1. Personal data we collect

To operate the service and provide the online gaming experience, we collect the following categories of data:

Note: The App does not access your contacts, location, photo library, microphone, camera, SMS or payment data, and on Windows it does not read your personal files. Display, sound and offline difficulty settings are stored entirely on your device. Games against the computer run fully offline: the AI engine runs on your device and no data about these games is sent to us.

2. Purposes of processing

The personal data we collect is used only for the following purposes:

  1. Creating, authenticating and maintaining user accounts; matchmaking and validating games.
  2. Calculating and updating ELO ratings and displaying public leaderboards.
  3. Operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and optimizing the App’s performance.
  4. Detecting and preventing cheating, unauthorized interference or violations of the game rules.
  5. Complying with legal obligations at the request of competent state authorities.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or behavioral marketing purposes.

3. Publicly displayed information

When you play online, your display name and ELO rating are publicly visible in the lobby, at game tables and on the leaderboard.

To protect your privacy, we recommend that you do not use your real full name, phone number, address or any other sensitive personal information as your display name or share it via in-game chat. We are not responsible for risks arising from personal information you voluntarily disclose while interacting with other players.

4. Sharing and transfer of data to third parties

We share only the minimum data necessary with trusted service providers to operate the App, including:

These third parties are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only process data within the scope of the services they provide. Apart from this, we disclose data only upon a written request from a state regulatory or law enforcement authority as required by law.

5. Data retention

6. Data security

We apply appropriate technical measures (such as HTTPS/WSS encrypted connections and strict access control for administrative systems) to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. In the event of a security incident affecting personal data, we will remediate it and notify users and the relevant authorities as required by law.

7. Your rights and data deletion requests

Under Vietnam’s Decree 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection, you have full rights over your personal data (including the rights to be informed, access, rectify, object to processing and request deletion).

To exercise your right to delete your account and all personal data, please:

  2. Use the subject line: “Xiangqi Master: Chinese Chess account deletion request”.
  3. Include your in-game display name and your identifier/sign-in email (if any).

We will verify and process your request within 30 days. Note: once your account is deleted, all ELO, ranking and related history data is permanently destroyed and cannot be recovered.

8. Children’s privacy

The App does not knowingly collect or process personal data of children under 13 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us by email so we can delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App or applicable laws. Updates take effect as soon as they are published. Your continued use of the App after the Policy is updated means you accept those changes.
